Located in Scotland, Glasgow International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the country. The airport is served by a good number of local and international airlines including British Airways, Loganair, Thomas Cook Airlines, Ryanair, EasyJet, Jet 2, and TUI Airways. With more than 9 million flight passengers using the airport services annually, travellers can connect to more than 120 destinations across the world. The vast number of airlines operating from the airport is a great indication that Glasgow Airport is a favourite airport for both locals and international flight travellers.
The airport started operations in 1966. It has one terminal building built by architect Basil Spence. The terminal which cost more than 4 million British pounds to complete is divided into three piers and was commissioned by Queen Elizabeth II.
Today, the airport has a smaller second terminal building and a single runway that measures more than 2.600 metres in length.
The state of the art amenities featured in the airport makes it even more convincing. However, you are advised to always arrive at the airport a few hours before your flight so you can complete the check-in procedures ahead of time.
